Make your own investment plan

You've now covered the basics. In this chapter you turn what you've learned into your own plan: why you invest, for how long, how you act and what you do when the market moves. A plan helps keep your decisions consistent when your emotions say otherwise.

Why it pays to write down a plan

A plan made in advance is the most effective protection against impulsive decisions. When the market falls, the question “should I sell?” has already been settled in a calm moment. A plan doesn't predict the market. It decides how you will act.

The tool below brings your answers together on one page. It doesn't suggest products or allocations: the result is made up only of your own choices.

Build your plan

Nine questions. You can come back and change your answers at any time. The plan is saved in this browser.

What next?

Your plan shows which asset classes you want to understand. The Level 2 courses go through them one at a time: Stocks · ETFs · Funds · Bonds · Crypto-assets · Gold.

Once your portfolio is built, come back to the chapter Maintaining your portfolio →. It tells you what to follow and how often.
