Crypto
Crypto is a young asset class that is open around the clock, where ownership is based on keys rather than a register. This path covers where value can come from, how the assets are held, what regulation requires and how taxation works.

Facts before opinions
Facts instead of opinions: first what crypto-assets are, then owning and trading, and finally regulation and taxation.
Crypto pays no interest and no dividends.
A share pays dividends and a bond pays interest. A crypto-asset pays neither: its return comes from someone later being willing to pay more for it. That is why two questions matter more than any price forecast: who holds the keys, and how much weight it has in your portfolio.
Someone using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto published a nine-page paper on peer-to-peer electronic cash that solves the double-spending problem without a trusted intermediary. The timing, in the middle of the financial crisis, was no coincidence.
Notice the recurring pattern: every strong rise has been followed by a deep fall. The structure has improved cycle after cycle (regulation, custody and trading venues), but the swings have not gone away.
Risk warning: educational content, not investment advice. Crypto-assets are highly volatile and high-risk. You can lose your entire investment, and they are not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme.
